Michael (Mike) Barboa died at his home in Battlefield, Missouri, on January 14, 2017, at the age of 65.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, his son, Christopher (Jenn) and granddaughers Courtney and Kyleigh. He has two brothers, Ted (Jackie) of Colorado, and Dan (Rose) of New Mexico. He is also survived by his parents, Ted and Nancy Rakes of New Mexico. Mr. Barboa is preceded in death by his sister Paula Rakes of New Mexico.
Michael was born on Feb. 22, 1951 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After attending the University of New Mexico, he spend his career as the food and beverage manager of Angel Fire Resort, An-gel Fire, New Mexico.
Mike’s passion in life was spending time with his family. His favorite activity was watching football with his son, cheering for the Broncos. He was known as a kind, gentle man who showed great compassion for all.
A visitation is scheduled for 5 PM Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 at Lohmeyer Funeral Home, with a ser-vice following at 6 PM.
Mr. Barboa was an ardent supporter of the charity “STARS for Autism” and requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to that organization at 4810 S. Sandy Ct., Battlefield, MO. 65619
