Becky Leann ""Minnie"" Gambino (Hendrix)
Becky “Minnie” Leann Hendrix Gambino went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 17, 2017, at her home in Springfield, Mo. Becky was born Monday, May 30, 1960 to Kenneth and Shirley Hendrix in Marshfield, Mo. Becky is survived by her husband Tom Gambino, her Mother Shirley Hendrix, her son Ryan Glass and daughter Danielle and husband Eric Shepard. Four grandchildren Austin Shepard, Cason Kelly, Addison Shepard and Josie Shepard. Two sisters Bonita Jones and husband Steve, Beth Whitaker and husband Steve. Several nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Becky was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Hendrix.
Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday April 8th, 2017 at Cedar Ridge Church and cemetery near Long Lane, Mo with Dan Talbott officiating. Becky had a big heart and never met a stranger. She loved to sing. laugh and tell stories that brought laughter to others. Becky was very talented in many areas.. When Becky went to high school, her art teacher was so impressed by her paintings and drawings that she placed Becky in advanced art class. Becky wrote many poems, songs and stories. Becky was saved at an early age, and her never ending love and reliance in God was present in her writings. Four years ago, while fighting cancer and strokes, Becky awoke in the middle of the night. She said she knew God was leading her home because she was able to move her left leg which she hadn’t been able to do. Becky hadn’t written anything for a long time. She was led to the table where paper and pen lay. When Becky saw it, she got down on her knees and prayed “God I really love you! You sent me your only son!” Then Becky said “God picked me up. He picked up my pen for me.” These are some of the words she wrote. “This one’s for you God and your only Son Jesus. We made it God! We really made it! Another place, another time, another road. We made it together, hand in hand. The beginning and the end forever and forever. We will walk together down those golden streets, towards what I call Home.”
