Obituary for Merle Eleanor Tobin

Merle Eleanor Tobin October 13, 1922 – May 3, 2017

Memorial Service to be held at a later date in Long Beach, California. Local arrangements were under the direction of Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri.

Mrs. Tobin, 94, passed away peacefully at her home in Bolivar, Missouri with family by her side. She was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada; the daughter of Victoria and Richard Mullen. She married Thomas William Tobin on November 28, 1946, and from this union four children were born, Don and Ken Tobin (twins), Sheila Nothern, and Cheryl Tobin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom, and son, Don.

The family moved to Long Beach, California in 1957 and Merle moved to Bolivar, Missouri in 2004 to be with her daughter, Sheila.

She is survived by her children, Ken Tobin of Long Beach, California, Sheila Nothern and husband, Terry, of Bolivar, Cheryl Tobin of Long Beach, California, and six grandchildren.

Merle was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bolivar, MIssouri. She enjoyed and appreciated the companionship of friends and neighbors, and treasured her time with extended family sharing special events and holidays together. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach, California.
