Obituary for Timothy Dewayne Rowden

Timothy Dewayne Rowden
Timothy Dewayne Rowden.
Born in Springfield, MO to Rex and Betty (Pilkinton) Rowden on June 18, 1966.
Died October 15, 2017 in his home surrounded by loved ones.
Tim leaves behind a great many friends and relatives. Far too many to name you all however you are all loved and appreciated.
His son Rex Jacob Cody Rowden and wife Cherie Rowden. His two beloved grandchildren Timothy Riley Rowden and Katherine Joann Rowden. He leaves two sisters, Sandra Young, husband James and Lisa Hamilton, husband Denny. Nieces, Bridgett Taylor, Delaney Yocom and Lindsey Young. Great nieces and nephews Gracie Taylor, Chase Taylor and Lizzie Taylor, Juniper Sumners and Asher Yocom as well as Adlee and Braxton Davidson.
Special mention to his best friend Joey Hobbs, his Uncle Lou Sartin and cousins JD Pilkinton and Terry Price should be made for all the years of love, friendship and good times.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rex and Betty Rowden.
Many people didn’t even know that Tim was ill, that was his way of being stubborn, standing strong and not wanting pity. Tim died in his home surrounded by his family and closest friends with great dignity.
Tim enjoyed the outdoors, being outside, in the woods or by a lake were his favorite places to be. In September, we took a little trip to Colorado. He kept saying “This is God’s country, we’re in heaven. “He enjoyed his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding roller coasters, coaching basketball, being a father, a papa and everyone else’s Uncle Bunk. He enjoyed aggravating all the kids with “ Bunky Time”
He was single most of his adult life and I’d like to think it’s because he’d rather kiss a bass or a big buck than be home with a girl.
He lived life to the fullest, he laughed, he loved. He did both hard and heart filled and without regret. He stood strong and tough in any fight and that includes this last one. He may have struck out at his last bat but he won the game. He is no doubt running to our parents with the speed of an Olympic Sprinter to hug them tight at this very moment and telling them all about the kids and how perfect they are. He will be sorely missed.
He would call his sisters many mornings just to say “Good morning Beautiful, have a great day” we will miss those calls.
A memorial visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017, in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel, 500 East Walnut Street, Springfield, Mo.
A memorial service will follow the visitation at 6:00 p.m.
Special thanks and much love and regard to our Aunts, Blanche, Shirley and Geraldine for the love and support they’ve shown us since the loss of our parents last year. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for Timothy, has been established at any Central Bank facilty.
Would be greatly appreciated as well as memories and prayers. Do not cry for him, celebrate his life and reunion with his loved ones that’s gone before…
