Pink Castles in the Sky

Don't you ever tell me that you can't live by a big pink castle... my dad found us one.. Don't ever say that there's a better team than the White Sox... Don't you ever think that you can't change a life around. My dad changed hundreds... Don't you tell me that raising a child is too hard and not fun. My dad and mom had six. Weekends going camping or hiking and had a dang blast! Even mom in her high heels From station wagons, stinky bubblegum, cream soda, singing and 'looking at the foliage'...our road trips were the best memories. The lake trips, cabins, Tents and dogs all sprinkled with love, laughter, excitement and occasionally a very loud 'dad voice' in which we shut up and sat up Great memory of hmmmm... being kicked off private property at 3 in the morning and running over a dog. Btw- Yes the dog lived Don't ever lose your faith in God above. my dads faith carried me many times... Don't you ever think you can't work because you're sick, tired or old. my dad did it...at 74 years old. Don't you ever walk past an animal in need. My dad rescued and loved thousands. Don't ever think that anything worth having is easy. My dad will throw thunder at your words from up above... Don't you dare ease your pain with a brain soothing substance. Wake up to life and give it a chance sober. My dad did it. Don't put off on going to church, hiking, or most of all stopping to talk to the cows... they were my dads friends. Probably even named them all. Don't stop singing. Ever. It maybe the thing people love most without you even knowing. The homilies. Deep, loud booming voice of my Dads. Beautiful. Missed already. Most of all don't put of love. Speak it, write it, show it... my favorite memory of love has always been the way my dad would look into my mother's eyes. She'd say 'oh Powers' That i think I'll miss that gazed look of love the most... Imperfectly perfect childhood. Great work mom and dad. You two hit it out of the ballpark! Must've been the Cubs! (Kidding Dad, kidding. I love you much) -Jodie
